Dr. Mallappa Kumara Swamy is a distinguished academic and researcher, currently serving as Professor and Head in the Department of Biotechnology and Microbiology at East West First Grade College, Bengaluru, India. With over two decades of teaching and research expertise, he has earned a reputation as one of India’s leading scientists, being included in Stanford University’s prestigious list of the Top 2% Most Influential Scientists from 2021 to 2024. Dr. Swamy possesses a robust educational foundation, holding a Ph.D. in Biotechnology from Acharya Nagarjuna University, complemented by an M.Phil and M.Sc in the same field. His extensive career encompasses key academic positions and post-doctoral research at Universiti Putra Malaysia, where he explored medicinal plant biotechnology, phytochemical genomics, secondary metabolite production, and nanobiotechnology. He has successfully completed numerous funded research projects on topics ranging from bioinformatics to probiotics, contributing groundbreaking findings to his field. As an author, Dr. Swamy boasts an impressive catalog of scholarly work, including 68 research and review papers, alongside 20 books published by eminent publishers like Springer, Elsevier, and CRC Press. His administrative acumen is reflected in his six years of experience as Principal and Head, paired with a commitment to talent development, conference management, and innovation-driven education.
